Crom’s Gateway Candle Holder/Incense Burner

Crom’s Gateway is a one-of-a-kind candle holder and incense burner constructed from bone, brass, wood, and reclaimed metal.

Two long raccoon bones rise from the base to form an arch, joined and detailed with brass wire. Beneath them sits a rat-skull fragment supporting a brass dish suitable for either a candle or cone incense. Four spent bullet casings surround the central fixture, creating additional candle holders and giving the entire piece the appearance of some obscure ceremonial apparatus whose operating instructions were mercifully lost.

It works equally well as functional altarware, curiosity-cabinet art, or the centerpiece of a ritual arrangement that could probably benefit from dramatic lighting.

Use
Crom’s Gateway can be used as a multi-candle holder or cone incense burner – or both.

The central brass dish accommodates a larger candle or incense cone, while the four surrounding brass casings may hold smaller taper candles.

It may also simply be displayed as a one-of-a-kind piece of ritual assemblage art.

The bottom is cushioned with felt pads to help protect furniture and altar surfaces.

The individual bone forms, wirework, skull fragment, reclaimed components, and construction cannot be duplicated exactly.

Care
Dust gently with a soft cloth or brush.

Avoid soaking, prolonged moisture, extreme heat, or harsh chemical cleaners. Natural bone, wood, leather, and metal components will age differently over time, and brass may naturally develop patina.

Always place Crom’s Gateway on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface.

Never leave burning candles or incense unattended.

When using cone incense, allow the brass dish and spent ash to cool completely before handling or cleaning.

Keep candle flames away from the bone arch, wirework, and other decorative components. Do not allow candles to burn down far enough for the flame to contact the structure.

Keep away from curtains, paper, dried botanicals, and other flammable materials.

Use incense in a well-ventilated area.

Keep away from children and pets.
